We drove up to pretoria on thursday (July 10th) and toured some of the city. Pretoria is the smaller city just north of Johannesburg, and it is one of two seats of government (the other is cape town). Here are some of the pictures:

The Kruger monument in the middle of church square

An unidentified building on the perimeter of church square. Church square is surrounded by a lot of old buildings. We went into one and found out it was the supreme court building, but I don't know what this building is:). They all look fairly similar.

One of the police tanks out defending the public (or president bush). I think they are just out because of bush's visit.

An old victorian house known as the Melrose house. The treaty ending the Anglo-Boer between the british and the afrikaners (dutch) was signed here.
